Our visit to Kashi was nothing short of magical, filled with divine moments and unforgettable experiences.
The evening began with the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. After the aarti, we prepared for a spiritual journey to the Kashi Vishwanatha Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Known as the city’s spiritual heart, the temple attracts devotees from across the world.
We arrived at the temple around 1:00 AM and joined the queue of eager devotees. The anticipation of entering the sacred shrine kept us energized, despite the late hour. After hours of waiting, we had the darshana of Lord Shiva around 5:00 AM. The Sparsha Aarti, where devotees can witness and feel the divine vibrations of the deity, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The atmosphere inside the temple was filled with chants of “Har Har Mahadev,” creating a deep sense of devotion and peace.
Our spiritual journey continued to the Kalabhairava Temple, another revered spot in Kashi. Known as the guardian of the city, Kalabhairava is believed to protect devotees and grant them strength. The darshana at this temple was equally divine and fulfilling.
After a brief rest and a hearty breakfast, we set out to explore the iconic ghats of Varanasi. Walking along the ghats, each with its unique significance, was like walking through the pages of history and spirituality. From Assi Ghat to Manikarnika Ghat, every step told a story of faith, culture, and life.
We ended our exploration with a boat ride on the Ganga River. The serene experience of gliding over the sacred waters offered a different perspective of the ghats during the day. The vibrant activities along the riverbanks, the sight of devotees performing rituals, and the view of the majestic temples added to the charm of our journey.
As the sun began to set, it was time to bid farewell to Kashi. We embarked on a long 17-hour train journey to our next destination, Ujjain Mahakaleshwara Temple, carrying with us memories of divine experiences and the spiritual essence of Varanasi.
Kashi is not just a city; it is an emotion, a journey within oneself. From the sacred Ganga to the ancient temples, every moment here is a reminder of the eternal connection between life, faith, and the divine. Our visit to Kashi was truly a blessing, and it remains etched in our hearts as one of the most profound travel experiences.
