During our trip to Sakleshpur, after an early morning hike to Hosahalli Betta, we planned to spend the second half of the day exploring Mookanamane Falls. The waterfall was located around 17 Km from Home stay and 41 Kms from Sakleshpur town and is surrounded by lush greenery and calm village roads π³π.
The road condition was decent, but since the roads are narrow, it took us more than 30 minutes to reach the destination. There is enough parking space near the waterfall, but by mistake, we parked our car a little far away. Only after reaching the falls did we realize that parking is available much closer π.
Mookanamane Falls is a natural waterfall formed by streams from the Western Ghats. It has been known mainly to locals and trekkers and is slowly gaining popularity due to its untouched beauty.
From the parking area, we had to walk around 500 meters to reach the waterfall. The walk is scenic but can be a bit challenging. It may be difficult for kids and elderly people, especially during the monsoon season.
Since this was a family trip, we did not go very close to the waterfall. We carefully stepped down, clicked a few pictures πΈ, and enjoyed the view from a safe distance.

It was also a bit crowded, so instead of staying near the main waterfall, we decided to find a quieter spot.
After heading back, we found another calm place to play in the water. The water level was low, so we easily crossed the stream, sat on a few rocks, and spent some relaxing time splashing around π§π. It was peaceful, refreshing, and perfect for unwinding after the hike.

After clicking a few more pictures, we headed back to our homestay (Hillock Vista Homestay). On the way, we stopped for a short break to witness a beautiful sunset. The golden sky and green surroundings made a perfect ending to the day πβ¨.

Mookanamane Falls is a perfect for nature lovers who enjoy calm places away from city noise. If you love greenery, water, and peaceful vibes, this place is definitely worth adding to your travel list πΏπ. Just remember to travel responsibly and respect nature!
Happy traveling! πβοΈ
