This year, I had the chance to witness the Patalamma Grama Devata Habba in Jayanagar, one of the beautiful traditions celebrated every year around namma Bengaluru. It’s also known as “Ura Habba” in our local language, which means a festival of the local village deity.

The entire area of Jayanagar was glowing with lights and decorations. Streets were filled with vibrant energy, and it almost felt like a mini version of Mysuru Dasara. The atmosphere was festive, colorful, and full of life.

Though I couldn’t spend much time there, I took a quick walk around the decorated streets just to enjoy the beauty and soak in the festive spirit. It was heartwarming to see the community come together, celebrate, and keep these lovely traditions alive.

Such moments remind us of the charm of local festivals and the joy they bring, even with a short visit.
