It had been more than a year since we last went on a trip together as a group. So, for the Republic Day long weekend, we planned a relaxed get-together and a short drive outside Bengaluru. Priya took the initiative and booked Hillock Vista Homestay in Sakleshpur for our stay β a perfect choice for a peaceful escape close to nature πΏ.
We started early in the morning from Bengaluru, and Sakleshpur is about 220 km away, which takes around 5β6 hours by road, depending on traffic and breaks. We made a couple of food stops along the way β one for vegetarian breakfast near Kadamba Hotel, and another at SLR Biryani near Channarayapattana. Multiple stops made the drive more enjoyable and relaxed.

After a comfortable drive, we reached the homestay around 1:00 PM. The weather was pleasantly cool. Even though summer was around the corner, the fresh air and slight chill made the place feel refreshing and calm.

After a quick lunch, we spent some relaxed time in the swimming pool. The rest of the day was all about enjoying the property β walking around, clicking photos, and simply unwinding.

We were lucky to spot some beautiful and colorful birds around the homestay π¦π. Iβll share more details about them in upcoming posts.
The next day, we planned a short hike nearby. We visited Hosahalli Betta, a lovely spot with serene views, and later headed to Mookanamane Waterfalls, which added a refreshing touch to our trip π¦.
The best time to visit Sakleshpur is from September to March, when the weather is cool and pleasant. Monsoon months are also beautiful but can be slippery if you plan hikes or waterfall visits.
Overall, this trip was a much-needed break for all of us. We spent quality time together, enjoyed nature, and returned with relaxed minds and happy memories. Hillock Vista Homestay truly offered peace, comfort, and a perfect setting for a short getaway from city life.
If youβre looking for a calm weekend trip with nature, temples, and good company β Sakleshpur is a great choice ππ
