Nestled amidst the tranquil backwaters of the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam, Gopalaswamy Temple is a hidden gem that offers both spiritual solace and breathtaking views.
We were in mysuru to attend one family function, we were done with it and we had enough time before we head back to Bengaluru. We have plenty of options around mysuru for quick stop, we have opted for Gopalaswamy Temple which is located at backwaters of KRS dam.
Though i visited plenty of times earlier to mysuru, didnt get a chance to visit this beautiful place! Even my Mom wanted to visit this place so headed towards Gopalaswamy Temple.
The Gopalaswamy Temple is around 30 Kms from Mysuru. When i checked in google map it was showing more than one hour i was wondering it might be because of weekend traffic but once i went near by only i came to know. Last around 5 Kms road condition is very bad and need more time here. took around 40 mins to cover the last stretch.
Upon arrival we will forget the bad road drive by seeing the beauty around. We have enough space for parking that’s the first thing i liked about this place.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is an architectural marvel with intricate carvings and a vibrant façade. As you step inside, the peaceful atmosphere envelops you, allowing for quiet reflection and worship.
The temple overlooks the expansive backwaters, creating a picturesque backdrop. The sight of water gently lapping at the shore, combined with the sound of birds chirping, makes it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts.
Gopalaswamy Temple is more than just a place of worship; it’s a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you’re seeking spiritual enlightenment or simply a peaceful day surrounded by nature, this hidden gem on the KRS backwaters is a must-visit.
