As the summer holidays were coming to an end, we realized that we hadn’t taken Viha on a vacation. With Priya’s birthday also around the corner, we decided to plan a relaxing family trip to Kalpetta in Wayanad. πŸŽ‚βœ¨

Since it was a last-minute plan during a long weekend, finding accommodation was quite challenging. Most resorts were fully booked, but luckily, we managed to get a room at The Golf Valley Resort. 🏨

Wayanad is a beautiful hill district in the state of Kerala, known for its lush greenery, forests, waterfalls, wildlife, and pleasant weather. Located about 280 km from Bengaluru, it is one of the most popular weekend getaways for nature lovers. πŸŒ³πŸŒ„

πŸ“ Location: Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala
πŸš— Distance from Bengaluru: Approximately 280 km

We planned to start early and drive through the famous Sulthan Bathery forest, hoping to spot some wildlife along the way. Unfortunately, our luck was terrible this time! πŸ˜…

Despite keeping our eyes on the road and forest edges, we couldn’t spot a single wild animal during our journey.

We finally reached the resort around 1:00 PM. The moment we arrived, Viha was excited and couldn’t wait to jump into the swimming pool! πŸ˜„

After somehow convincing her to have lunch first, we spent most of the day relaxing in the pool. One thing we really liked about the resort was that it had two swimming pools, which helped spread out the crowd and made the experience more enjoyable.

In the evening, the resort organized a live music performance. The music was wonderful, and it created the perfect atmosphere to unwind and enjoy the cool Wayanad weather. 🎡✨

Since we were in no mood for sightseeing the next day, we spent our time simply relaxing, enjoying the resort, and taking a much-needed break from our daily routine.

The resort itself was beautiful, and the surroundings were peaceful. However, the crowd wasn’t very considerate. Some visitors were bringing children into the pool wearing diapers, and unfortunately, a few used diapers were even left near the pool area. πŸ˜”

After seeing this, we decided to skip the pool on the second day and simply relax around the resort instead.

On our return journey, our luck improved a little. We managed to spot a few bison and even an elephant near the forest area. Unfortunately, since I was driving, I couldn’t stop to take photographs. πŸ“Έ

Still, seeing them in the wild was a great way to end our trip.

This trip may not have been packed with sightseeing or adventure, but it gave us exactly what we neededβ€”a peaceful family break, quality time together, and a chance to recharge before getting back to our routine.

If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend getaway surrounded by nature, Wayanad is always a wonderful choice. 🌿😊
