Some of the best trips happen without any planning, and this was one of them!

On Saturday evening around 8 PM, my friend Jagganna called and suggested a quick outing. After a hectic work week, I was already craving a refreshing ride. Within minutes, we decided on a Sunday morning ride to Sangama.

This ride was extra special for me because it was my first monsoon ride with my daughter. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘§β€οΈ

I was a little worried since her school had just started, and I didn’t want the rain or cold weather to make her sick. At the same time, I wanted her to experience the joy of road trips and outdoor adventures. After all, she had already started joining me on short treks!

πŸŒ„ The Journey Begins

We gathered at 6:30 AM as planned. Jagdish and Pradeep joined us along with their families, making it a fun group ride.

After a delicious breakfast in Kanakapura 🍽️, we continued through scenic roads lined with greenery and reached Sangama by 9:30 AM.

The weather was perfect, with cool winds and occasional drizzles making the ride even more enjoyable. 🌿🌦️

Sangama, located near Kanakapura in Karnataka, is a beautiful spot where the rivers Arkavathi and Kaveri meet. Surrounded by hills, greenery, and flowing water, it is a popular weekend getaway for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Just about 80 km from Bengaluru, Sangama is perfect for a quick day trip with family and friends.

🚢 Exploring Sangama and Mekedatu

On the way, we paused for a quick photo session to capture some memorable moments.

There was plenty of parking available for both bikes and cars. As soon as we parked, we headed towards Mekedatu, one of the most famous attractions in the area. I’ll share more about that adventure in a separate post! 😊

After returning from Mekedatu, we relaxed with some snacks and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The river, green hills, and fresh air created the perfect setting for a relaxing family outing.

πŸ› Heading Back Home

Since we had no plans to get into the water, we started our return journey after spending some quality time there.

We stopped near Kanakapura for lunch and finally reached Bengaluru around 3 PM.

Interestingly, we experienced only light drizzles throughout the ride. But the moment we reached home, the skies opened up and it started pouring heavily! πŸŒ§οΈπŸ˜‚
